Dear Friend,

Spring is in the air and I’m sure that has you thinking about getting out on your favorite rail-trails.  So this is the perfect time for an update on all we’ve been doing to map the 1,500 rail-trails across the country, and to tell you what we have that’s new for you this season.

One of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy’s top projects has been electronically mapping all the pieces of the rail-trail system in the United States—both existing trails and potential new trail sites—and putting all of that information online and at your fingertips on our interactive trail mapping Web site.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy has already mapped close to 1,000 trails from Maine to California and places in between.  But there are hundreds more and we won’t be satisfied unless we can bring you detailed information on each and every one.

That is why I am asking you to consider making a special gift of $35 or more to Rails-to-Trails Conservancy today.  With your support, we will continue to build the most comprehensive electronic rail-trail database ever and get that much closer to including every trail.  This tool will allow you to enjoy our nation’s precious rail-trail resources even more.

Plus, if you are able to help with a gift of $35 or more today, I will send you a complimentary copy of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy regional trail guide of your choice.  You can choose one of these five popular guides including the just-released West and Midwest volumes.

As a valued supporter, your special gift today will help us raise the $50,000 we need by April 30 for all the mapping work and other important initiatives that lie ahead.

I truly appreciate your past support of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and hope you will join us once again to enrich the nation’s rail-trail system.  Make your gift of $35 or more today, and take along one of our great guidebooks to make your travels even more enjoyable.

I hope to see you out on the trail!

Sincerely,
